Master's Course
Dean's greeting
- Developing Professionalism
- In recent years, we have seen radical changes in the modern economic and social environment. In each sector in every industry, ever greater emphasis is being placed on the importance of true professionalism as a key to the success and survival of each individual. So how do we define what constitutes “a professional” in each industrial sector? At the Faculty of Economics, we believe that a professional must have a high level of expert knowledge in his or her chosen field, and seek to nurture and use his or her abilities to think creatively to generate new concepts and new practical methods within that field.
- Our Master’s Course has been developed with a focus on the cultivation of professionals from every sector of industry. Our curriculum has been designed for faculty graduates who wish to develop their specialist knowledge and creative thinking further, for international students, and for people already in employment, who wish to reinforce their practical experience within an academic framework.
- Nagasaki Commercial High School (NCHS), from which the Faculty developed, was established around a century ago, in 1905. It was also around that time that business schools (graduate schools for management) started to spring up in the United States. Both these US business schools and the Commercial Schools in Japan were established in order to meet the rapidly expanding demand for professional well-versed in corporate management, made necessary by the swift industrial development being experienced in both countries. As such, our Faculty has a long and proud tradition of fostering and supplying such professionals to industry. In the spirit of this tradition, our Master’s Course will open the path to professionalism, which will help our graduates to enjoy the success in this new and exciting economic age.
