The Faculty of Economics held an Ikeshima and Sotome bus tour for international students.

On June 17, 2023, Nagasaki University's Faculty of Economics held an Ikeshima and Sotome bus tour for international students of the Faculty of Economics and the Graduate School of Economics. The purpose of this tour is to provide opportunities for students to acquire understandings of culture and history of Nagasaki and build deeper friendships with each other/Japanese students.

Guided by former coal miners, the participants walked around the former coal mine, and saw and touched mining equipment in Ikeshima. In Sotome, they visited the Shitsu church, the former Shitsu aid center, the Father de Rotz Memorial Hall, and the Sotome Museum of History and Folklore with local guides and a sister who explained the history of hidden Christians and Father de Rotz's achievements.
